Biography
  • Dr. Mishra is an Assistant Professor & Head of the Department in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, where he has been since December 2011. He obtained his Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Allahabad and received M. Phil and Ph.D. from South Asian Division, School of International Relations, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.

  • His research interest’s area covers the Politics of Madrasas and Extremism in Pakistan & Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). He teaches courses: South Asia in International Politics, Globalisation and Global Governance, Basic Concepts of Political Science, Western Political Thought and Ancient Indian Political Thought at the Ph.D. and Post Graduate level. Currently, he is working on a major project funded by ICSSR, New Delhi. The title of the project is the Myth of Domestic Sovereignty and Autonomy in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. One student awarded a Ph.D. under his supervision. Three students are pursuing their Ph.D. under his supervision.
  • Dr. Mishra has written various articles in the journal of reputes and edited books. The main is “Sectarian Violence in Gilgit-Baltistan”, Jadavpur Journal of International Relations (SAGE Publications) in 2019.  He has also published many articles in World Affairs: The Journal of International Issues, Journal of Peace Studies, Beijing Law Review, Organiser, Vidhan and Journal of India Foundation.
  • Dr. Mishra visited the Institute of Islamic Studies, Mc Gill University, and Concordia University, Montreal, Canada for Ph.D. research in the month of June 2006. He also visited Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) and British Commonwealth Office, London in 2006.

  • Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, School of Humanities and Social Sciences since 7th October 2017.
  • Warden of Birsa Munda Hostel from 25th August 2014 to Present.

  •  PhD on Madrasas and Extremism in Pakistan: Post 1977, from South Asian Studies Division, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New      Delhi, India. Thesis awarded on 26.03.2008. 
  • M.Phil from South Asian Studies Division, School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi, 2002 with First Division (7.25 CGPA). The dissertation on Madrasas and  Militancy in Pakistan.·                     
  • MA in Political Science from the University of Allahabad with First Division (68 %) in 1998 batch. Second topper of the Allahabad University.
  •  BA from University of Allahabad with 58.4 % in 1996.
