Biography

Dr. Shiv Shankar is presently working as Faculty on Contract at the Department of Environmental Science, School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida India. He has obtained Ph.D. degree from the Department of Environmental Science, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University) Lucknow. He has qualified U.G.C. NET (2005 & 2007) in Environmental Science and ICAR NET (2010) in the subject Forestry and Environmental Science.

His field of specialization is Environmental Microbiology. His research interests are Microbial Bioremediation, Production and Environmental Applications of Microbial Ligninolytic Enzymes, Bio-deinking of Waste Paper, White-rot Fungi, Enzymatic Remediation of Industrial Wastewater.

He has successfully undertaken a major Post-Doctoral Research Project (Cost: 14,52,000) under the Young Scientist Scheme of Council of Science and Technology, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh at the Department of Environmental Science, B.B.A. University Lucknow.

He has worked as an Assistant Professor, Guest at the Department of Environmental Microbiology in the academic session 2014-2015. He has 4.5 years of teaching experience and 03 years of research experience in the area of Environmental Science. He has supervised 04 M.Sc. students in their major dissertation studies.

He has published more than 20 research papers in international and national journals of repute (h index 09), 15 chapters in books. He is a lifetime member of several learned Bodies/Societies viz., Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI), Prof. H. S. Srivastava Foundation for Science and Society, and Society for Conservation of Wild Life India. Dr. Shiv Shankar is a recipient of the UGC-Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship 2010.
