Biography
Dr. Nagendra Singh is Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, India. He obtained his postgraduate degree in Biochemistry from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi. He received his Ph.D. in Structure Biology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi in 2004 under the supervision of eminent protein crystallographer, Professor T.P. Singh from Department of Biophysics. After few brief stints as a postdoctoral fellow/Senior Research Officer/Senior Research Associate at AIIMS, New Delhi, He was appointed to the School of Biotechnology, GBU in 2010. Dr. Nagendra has published over 70 peer-reviewed international research papers (h-index = 23, I-10index = 40; May 2021). This research has been funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) agencies. For his research efforts he was awarded by National Academy of Sciences of India (NASI, Allahabad) young scientist award , Venus International Foundation Young Scientist Award, DST young scientist Award, Meeting of Noble Laureates and Students award in the field of medicine, Lindau, Germany by DST Govt of India and Talekar Medal for Best PhD thesis by AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Singh has also been awarded many travel awards from CCP4 UK, Indian National Science Academy, DST, Department of Biotechnology and CSIR etc. Dr. Singh is a member of Indian Biophysical Society and Indian Crystallographic Association. Dr. Singh has also qualified various national level exams such as CSIR-JRF, CSIR-SRF, GATE and UGC-NET etc. Dr. Singh has current key research interests on elucidating structure and functions of enzymes involved in RNA metabolism from bacteria and human. He has been invited over 30 international and national conferences to present research work.
