II.                As Director, International Affairs, GBU:

I am the first person who joined in School of Buddhist Studies and Civilization along with one of my colleague. At the time of my joining at GBU as an Assistant Professor, SOBSC, I came to know that there is NO STUDENT in SOBSC. Than we had a meeting of all the faculty members of the University and passed a resolution to request the higher authority of the University to start the process of intake of foreign students in GBU because we felt that it would be difficult to attract Indian students because of high fee and mandatory hostel facility.

On the request of faculty members of SOBSC, GBU especially myself (I was also in-charge of admission at Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Delhi from 2007-208 to 2011-2012), requested the competent authority of the University to start the process of admission of Foreign Students in University. The University has constituted a committee and I was appointed Director, International Affairs on March 28, 2012 to prepare a draft ordinance for the same. I have prepared the draft in consultation with committee members and also discuss it in the school with all the faculty members including Dean of the School which is duly approved by the Academic Council and Borad of Management as well as later on by Board of Governor.

Gautam Buddha University in compliance with the approval of the competent authority agreed in principle to open admissions to International Students. The intake of International Students has been started from the academic session (2012-2013). International cell at Gautam Buddha University offers a very cordial welcome to the International students wishing to join different programmes of the University for Higher Studies. To enforce it properly, the University has created a separate entity to look after the matters related to admissions of International Students in terms of procedure, process, admission, and related administration. The International Affairs Office advises students on all matters relating to application, admission, fees, accommodation, FRRO documentation for registration of student with MHA, arrival services and orientation. It also offers an ongoing support and after arrival advices. The University has planned to attract a large number of International students not only for Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses, but also for M. Phil. and Ph.D. programs. This Cell facilitates the international student community in acquiring information, in arranging for their admission, and in looking after their welfare. The University administers a variety of research programs, scholarly events, and outreach activities, often in collaboration with agencies on and off campus. Activities include a colloquium series, conferences, a visiting scholar program, etc. The International Students registered in this University since its inception, belong to following countries:
